Dog Training Frequently Asked Questions

Happy Hounds offers family pet dog training using positive reinforcement.  We offer group training classes at our facility.

We keep our class size small – typically 8 students / dogs.

We ask that all dogs come to class on a regular 6 foot leash – not a retractable.

We ask that all dogs come to class wearing a flat collar – not a choke or prong.  We want to start training with the least amount of correction as possible.

If you are going to bring treats for your dog – bring something small so they do not get an upset tummy.

For a current class schedule please visit our CLASS SCHEDULE page.

REQUIRED VACCINATIONS

All dogs in training class or daycare must be current on:
distemper / parvo
bordetella (commonly called kennel cough)
rabies (if over 6 months of age)

All dogs in daycare or training class must also be on a preventative for heartworm, flea and tick and must be parasite free.

Puppies must have their bordetella vaccine and be current on their distemper / parvo vaccine based on their age.

Proof of vaccinations is required the first day of training class or daycare.  You can bring your vaccination records with you or have your vet fax them to Happy Hounds at 262-502-3636.
